When I first started researching Pedal It!, almost two years ago, I came across a reference to Evalyn Parry’s play SPIN, and for the first time in my life, I desperately wished I were in another city, half-way across the country, so I could see a performance I’d read about.
This past weekend, Evalyn brought SPIN to Victoria. Part documentary, part spoken word, part memoir, SPIN is an ode to the bicycle and its role in the women’s rights movement. I entered the theater excited and left completely inspired. If you’re at all interested in great theater, bicycles, history, women’s rights, and the chance to hear someone masterfully accompany an excellent singer/songwriter on the “acoustic bicycle”, make sure you see this amazing show if ever you have the opportunity!
